This is the ONLY way I make canned biscuits when I don’t feel like making them from scratch! I started doing this about 3 years ago and they’ve been a hit ever since! I figured that if canned cinnamon rolls can be made better by steaming in the oven with heavy cream and foil, why can’t biscuits? Tag me if you give this hack a try! 🥳🥳🥳

In honor of Black History Month, I wanna discuss the reasons behind why a lot of us clean our meats.🍗🥩

From a historical stand point, slaves were given old and less desirable cuts of meats in dirty buckets while slave masters kept the high quality cuts for themselves. (Research it for yourself) But of course, Black people used true creativity to clean and season these discarded cuts of meat and transform them into something spectacular! Now, I can’t eat no chitterlings or pigs feet, but because of their resilience, I can enjoy family favorites like oxtail and chicken foot soup! 🤣

I hated having to clean chicken for my late 🇯🇲 grandmother 💚 to cook for church but I’m glad I had that experience. I still clean my meats before I cook them because although meats we buy today don’t have the same bacteria they once did, there is still gunk on the meats that I simply don’t want to eat. I have also heard people say they’ve gotten the “ick” while eating chicken because it started to taste like chicken. That’s probably because it wasn’t cleaned prior to cooking.

I still clean my meats but there’s nothing wrong with choosing not to. If you think about it, when you eat meat at a restaurant I can guarantee you they didn’t clean it for you before they served it to you!

✨Also, I encourage you to research the contributions and successes of Black people. We are more than just the history of “slavery.” Watch High on the Hog on Netflix, for starters or look up Seneca Village 😉

2/3 cup Rice A Roni rice pilaf, cooked according to package directions

3/4 cup blue bunny soft serve vanilla ice cream
1/4 cup cool whip
Your choice of toppings

Add ice cream and cool whip to a cup and stir until smooth and fully combined. Mix in your toppings. Done!

✨ if you use regular ice cream, use a blender to combine it with the cool whip. You may have to also add a little milk if it’s too thick.

These copycat 🌶️ Chili’s honey chipotle mozzarella sticks are 🔥🔥🔥

Sauce:
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon chipotle peppers
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white vinegar

Coatings:
1/2 cup all purpose flour

3 eggs, whisked

1 1/2 cups plain bread crumbs
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried parsley

16 ounce block whole milk mozzarella cheese

1. To make the sauce, combine ingredients in a saucepan over low heat.
2. Put the flour, whisked eggs, and breadcrumbs each in separate bowls.
3. Season breadcrumbs with the above seasonings.
4. To coat the cheese: flour➡️eggs➡️ breadcrumbs ➡️eggs➡️ breadcrumbs
5. Deep fry in 350 degree oil for 3 minutes or until cheese sticks begin to float.
6. Glaze cheese sticks with honey Chipotle sauce. 🌶️
