Hey foodie friend! Are you wanting to make brownies but don’t want to commit to a whole batch? If so, these easy single serve brownies are for you! Perfectly portioned for one- these brownies are quick to make, fun to eat, and guaranteed to hit the spot. With a dense, gooey center and a crispy, caramelized edge these individual brownies are sure to become your new favorite dessert when you need a quick fix.
What is a single serve brownie?
I achieved my single serve brownie recipe by converting my original brownie recipe into smaller measurements. Although this recipe makes two small brownies, I still consider it single serve because we all know we’re gonna eat the other one later lol! Or if you’re nice, you can share it with someone else. I wish single serve recipes or small batch recipes were more popular because it really is a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth without overindulging!
Ingredients for making easy single serve brownies
My favorite part of this recipe is how easily it comes together! It starts by combining melted milk chocolate with melted butter, a little oil, vanilla extract, and half an egg. Next, we add the wet mixture to a bowl of dry ingredients, including all purpose flour, cornstarch, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt!

Tips for making easy single serve brownies
- Don’t skip the cornstarch. I’ve made quite a few brownie recipes and adding cornstarch is an underrated trick for making chewy brownies!
- Choose your chocolate chips based on how deep of a chocolate flavor you prefer your brownies to have. I like to use milk chocolate chips for this recipe because unsweetened cocoa powder already has an intense flavor. You can also use semi sweet or dark chocolate if you like a deeper chocolate flavor.
- Allow the brownies to cool before you eat them in order to get the true texture. In the next tip, I’m giving you instructions for achieving your preferred brownie texture, but regardless, if the brownie is eaten too soon, it will seem underbaked.
- For fudgy brownies with a gooey center and crispy edge, bake at 350°F for 15 minutes. For a chewy brownie throughout bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. And for a denser, cake-like a brownie, bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
- To make picture-perfect brownies, press chocolate chips into the brownies after they’re done baking.
